Abstract: Viscous damping outrigger is one kind of damping outriggers. In order to study the seismic performance of super tall building with damping outriggers, this paper put forward a simplified 2 dimension model (2D model) With damping outriggers to investigate the structural inter-storey drift ratio, top displacement and acceleration as well as the velocity of dampers under different steady frequency excitation. The analytical results show that the top displacement of structure with viscous dampers located at the structure top can be controlled better than that in other stories . The structure top acceleration can be reduced to a minimum value and the velocity of dampers can reach up to a maximum value when the viscous dampers were set up near the structure bottom, which indicate that the viscous damper play a fully role in term of its energy-dissipation capacity when located at the bottom of the structure.
