Abstract. This paper aims at the isolation performance research of bridge in soft soil with multiple friction pendulum system(MFPS). A bridge has been chose and analyzed under two levels earthquake. Parameter study of FPS and MFPS under E2 earthquake indicate that longer isolation period can significantly reduce the intern force but little influence of the superstructure displacement, the isolation result shows friction coefficient is the most important factor among all the studied designed parameters of the MFPS. When MFPS have an appropriate friction coefficient and enough sidle displacement, it present a very well superstructure displacement control performance in a low intern force situation under E2 earthquake. The result comparison between the MFPS and FPS shows MFPS can achieve the same isolation target in E2 earthquake, but it can result lower intern force in E1 earthquake.
