Abstract. Two types of steel panel dampers that are developed by Lanke Co. Ltd mainly based on the deformation prototypes of steel panels, were equipped in a two-storey frame in order to evaluate the seismic response of the two different types of devices. Thus, in this study shaking table tests were applied in two directions separately carrying out 30 different loading cases using 5 different ground motion records which primarily aims to simulate different seismic intensities for practical design. And the results show that both the two types of steel panel dampers can absorb significant mount of energy by considerably large deformation, and meanwhile provide sufficient stiffness for the entire structures.
Keywords: Steel panel dampers, frame structures, shaking table test, seismic design.
